Cortland enters Yellow Phase

Effective Wednesday, June 17, 2020 Cortland Acres will enter the Yellow Phase of the reopening plan for State nursing homes.

Gov. Justice announces reopening plans for nursing homes

On June 10, Governor Jim Justice issued guidelines for the gradual reopening of nursing homes for visitation. The WV Department of Health and Human Resources is in the process of detailing those guidelines so that Cortland Acres, along with each facility in the state, can develop a plan that keeps residents as safe as possible while welcoming visitors. The reopening is scheduled to be phased in over the next several weeks. Cortland is working on its plan to submit to the State and hopes to announce it shortly. Please check back frequently for the latest information.

As West Virginia gradually reopens for business, nursing homes have not relaxed COVID restrictions.

Everyone at Cortland Acres understands how hard it is to be separated from friends and loved ones during the COVID-19 pandemic.  However, we want to assure you that all of the residents are doing well and continue to be engaged, entertained, and active daily.

Tucker County Health Department Issues Reminder

As of this morning, in Tucker County we have tested 174 Tucker County residents, we’ve had 4 that tested positive (they all have recovered) and 160 that tested negative (in addition to that, Cortland Acres Long-Term Care & Rehab Center had 244 staff and residents that tested negative for COVID-19 (the majority of those are Tucker County Residents).

All COVID tests on residents and staff are negative

In compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order, Cortland tested seventy-seven residents and one hundred and sixty-seven staff for COVID-19 last week. The results began coming in last weekend and we are happy to report that all residents and staff tested negative for COVID-19.

Rehab & Fitness Center at Cortland to reopen

Beginning Monday, May 4th, the Rehab and Fitness Center at Cortland will reopen to physical therapy and rehabilitation patients after closing as part of   COVID-19 precautions.
